After you’ve been booked as an associate for a wedding

Before you leave an event or maybe even through the wedding day, your couple or their family may have some questions for you. Below are the most frequently asked questions and how you should answer them. If something isn’t listed, let me know via email and we’ll address it together!

WEDDINGS

when do we get photos back after our wedding?

No more than 8 weeks and Meghan will connect with you the week after your wedding to give you an idea of what’s next.

Do you do sneak peeks?

At this time, we do not post any sneak peeks.

Can I get photos for thank you cards before the gallery is done?

Yes and no. If you really need them, we can make something happen, but accordingly to Emily Post, wedding thank yous should be sent out within three months of your wedding and with our turnaround rate being 8 weeks (at most), you’ll have plenty of time to design, order, print, and send out thank yous.

How does an extra hour of coverage work?

Since couples pay before the wedding day, their invoice is completed. In the event they request you stay later, that’s fine, but do offer increments of 30minutes. They’ll be invoiced after the wedding and it’ll need to be taken care of before the release of photos. You and your team will also be paid for that extra time.

What if it rains?

If rain is in the forecast, I encourage associates to come up with a plan on their own and let your couple know your thoughts. Since poor weather makes people anxious, involve your client as much as you think would allow them to calm down as much as possible. A couple options for you to consider are:

  • Look for covered or indoor locations as backup.

  • Bring an umbrella (clear) for the couple.

  • Suggest to the bride that she buy umbrellas for their wedding party (sometimes you can return them back to amazon when you’re done).

  • Embrace the rain! Figure out how to work with the water and show them references of how bad ass rain photos are.

When do we get our photos back from our session?

No more than three weeks. If it takes any longer, someone will reach out to you to let you know. If you need them sooner, email Meghan with your requests.

Do you do sneak peeks?

As this time, no.

 

can we add another outfit?

Yes and no. For most sessions, excluding styled engagement sessions, we suggest only one outfit so we can get the most photos out of our time together. Plus, by the time we have to pause to change, most couples are JUST starting to feel comfortable in front of the camera.

However, you can tell them to bring an extra outfit just incase you have time for it and to have them wear their favorite outfit first, OR they can keep the same outfit but bring accessories or layers to add variety (jacket, hat, scarf, shirt change for the guy, etc).
