Tests you cannot fail
I know that a test sounds like the last thing you’d like to do, but, from my own personal experience, I have found that some of the assesments below have changed my marriage and other relationships in great ways. If you don’t want to take my word for it, check it out for yourself below.
The Enneagram
When anyone brings up the enneagram, I get so excited. This tool has been so incredible helpful in my marriage and with other relationships in my life (friends, kids, etc). One disclaimer to the enneagram is that it’s easy to start putting people into boxes (“you’re being such a 6!”) and stereotype yourself and others. PLEASE don’t do that. This test measures what one’s inner motivation is and it can look so differently on those that are the same type. There are many tests out there, paid and free, but I recommend this one because of how accurate is it. If you’re having a hard time understanding what your type is or what “wings” are (1w2, 8w9, etc), check out the enneagram books here or email me! I can help you navigate.
The Love languages Test
From Gary Chapman, the author of “The Five Love Languages,” Chapman has a quiz you can take to better understand yourself and your partner when it comes to ways to show love and how you want to be loved. This can feel very obvious, but I encourage you to take it to know for sure, especially in different seasons of life because your needs may change! Take the test here.
The fair Play game
So this isn’t technically a test, but this came highly recommended from Sincere Counseling and is a great tool to see how you distribute big and small tasks, as well as the mental load of certain areas of your relationship and home life. This is supplemental to the Fair Play book and is set up in a game format to make things quick, easy, and effective.
