STYLED FAMILY ENGAGEMENT SESSION AT HONEYCREEK PRESERVE AND DAYTON COURTHOUSE

Within minutes after meeting Alex and Kaila, I felt as comfortable as if I’d known them for years! We got to know each other even more as we walked around Honeycreek Preserve in Troy, Ohio, but also as I joked with Kai, Kaila’s son. When photographing children, I get to experience an entirely new level of enjoyment when it comes to taking photos, which I’m so appreciative of. All four of us raced down the grassy fields of the reserve, peeked around white barns, and giggled in the tall, golden grasses amongst the wildflowers. Once Kai left for a fun time with the grandparents, that’s when the focus went back to Alex and Kaila and why we came together in the first place. After popping champagne to ring in the engagement, we changed into pale pinks and soft powdered blues to hit the modern, clean-scheme of Dayton’s downtown courthouse. With strolls along the soft-green leaf covered sidewalks and pauses near the stone-carved fountain, we were able to create incredible images that are simply breathtaking.
