Life as Mama Crocodile | Mother's Day
Happy Mother’s Day | 2019
Dayton Ohio Wedding Photographer
Holiday’s are always perfect excuses to do or gift something in a creative, sentimental, or silly way, Mother’s Day being one of them. For me, this holiday is really about spending quality time with your mom or mother-figures, and expressing appreciation for all their works in a big, medium, or small way.
This year, I opted for the sentimental department.
Four years ago, a couple weeks before my wedding day, I decided to recreate an image of my mom on her wedding day. At the time, I was pretty new to photography, and was unimpressed with my final image. So, because of pride, I deemed the image horrible and threw it on my hard drive, forgetting about it instantly.
Fast forward to 2019.
I went through my hard drive to clean things up and found this photo. Since I originally took this image, I’ve had two children and had gone through some new experiences, good and bad, and it made me view it differently. Instead of a self critic, I thought about my children, and how incredible it would be to have something sentimental as this. And I thought, who am I to deny my mom this neat, sentimental gift? After all, don’t Mom’s love all artwork from their child? I think mine still has some scribbled papers from my toddler years…
Mom’s are incredible. They love you through the sports achievements, the attitude adjustments, the “know it all” years, and days of complete adoration.
Mom, you are the reason I’m here, the way that I am, and the beginning to my career in photography. You have always supported me with any project, any meltdown, and a hug through loss. You are INCREDIBLE. With out you, where I’d be or who I’d be would be a mystery. I love you.
Happy Mother’s Day to my mom and to all the mom’s out there!
