“Painting is my endless pursuit of understanding. Drawing on dual roles as an artist and mother, I explore the oft-conflicting tensions that exist in the work of painting and of caretaking. Through painting plants and people, I explore the dual needs for solitude and connection. For self-sacrifice and self-care. Growth as excitement for newness and growth as grief for what is lost. “ - Chloe McEldowney

Chloe McEldowney is an incredible fine artist who has pieces included in exhibitions, galleries, and museums across the US, including The Dayton Art Institute, The Peoria Riverfront Museum, Anne Irwin Fine Art, The Delaware Contemporary, and most recently Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art. She just recently relocated to Columbus, Ohio and allowed me to step into her studio to hear her story, watch her process, and study how she balances her newest role as a mother to her son Oslo. I hope you feel inspired by these photos we captured for her growing business and comment your thoughts below!
